Archive Of One’s Own

Ink to paper,

How do you stain?

Words once stored,

remaining forever in place.

Creases on paper,

How do you fold?

Loved or tossed away,

sentenced still to wrinkles.

Tear-tainted paper,

How do you forget?

Written like a last page,

smeared yet never gone.

Flame reaching paper,

How do you burn?

Ashes in your wake,

unread as if never said.
