The Obsidian Review — Selected Works
This is the official archive of selected writing published by The Obsidian Review. Each piece featured here has been carefully curated as part of a broader editorial process, reflecting the voice and vision of its respective theme.
Current Editorial Cycle
Submissions for the first cycle of our evolving editorial framework are now open.
Theme: Memory
Submission Window: May 1 – August 1
This cycle marks the beginning of a more structured approach to curation within The Obsidian Review, where each theme exists as a distinct and intentional phase. Writers are invited to explore the concept of memory—its permanence, distortion, absence, and emotional weight—through original work.
Editorial Transition
The collection Mirrors of the Lost represents a previous editorial phase of The Obsidian Review. These works were curated prior to the introduction of the lunar cycle framework.
As the platform has grown, a structured, cycle-based system has been introduced to bring greater clarity, continuity, and depth to each theme. The lunar cycle now defines how themes are developed, curated, and presented over time.
Mirrors of the Lost remains part of our archive and reflects the foundation upon which this evolving system has been built.

Fragments of Memory
Not everything is meant to be remembered.
Some things stay because they refuse to leave.
A moment. A voice. A version of something that no longer exists.
What you remember is not always what happened.
What you forget is not always gone.
This cycle is now open.
We are curating a collection of writing centered around memory—its distortions, its absences, and the quiet ways it lingers.
This space is waiting.
You’ve remembered something while reading this. Haven’t you?
EDITORIAL NOTE
The pieces currently featured under Mirrors of the Lost belong to a previous editorial phase of The Obsidian Review. This collection represents an earlier curated theme and remains part of our archival selection. As we transition into a new cycle, The Obsidian Review continues to evolve through distinct thematic phases, each shaping a new body of work. All forthcoming submissions and published pieces will reflect the direction and identity of the current cycle. This structure is intentional—each theme exists as a complete and self-contained exploration, contributing to a larger, evolving literary framework. Writers: Please do not confuse Mirrors of the Lost with our current active theme. Engage with Mirrors of the Lost as part of our earlier curation, and look ahead to the next phase of The Obsidian Review before submitting.
